Pectus Excavatum and other deformities of the chest wall generally occur from birth and tend to worsen with age, causing an aesthetic problem and, on rare occasions, organic functional problems. Various reconstructive techniques have been developed, from resection techniques, through the placement of supports, to current reconstruction techniques using 3D personalized prostheses .
Since 2017 we have been developing this technique in our Thoracic Surgery service at the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital in Seville and incorporating it into our service portfolio, reducing the aggressiveness of the reconstruction and potential complications as well as hospital stay, achieving very good results. satisfactory in our patients. All the patients operated on were very satisfied with the result, their hospital stay was 48 hours, minimizing postoperative pain and successive check-ups by the doctors.
